Takeaway Little Chef Makes The Good Food Guide
Thanks to Heston Blumenthal’s makeover, the Little Chef chain has made it into the Good Food Guide 2010.
Blumenthal, famous for creating snail porridge, took on the project last year for a channel 4 show ‘Big Chef takes on Little Chef’, and introduced a whole new menu, whilst still retaining the essence of Little Chef.
He’s set to be scheduled for a follow-up to the TV show born from the project.
On Little Chef’s success, Blumenthal said in a press statement “I am overjoyed … inclusion in ‘The Good Food Guide’ is a great barometer of success and it’s fantastic for Little Chef Popham to be recognized by such an established British food guide.”
This is the first time that a roadside diner has been included in the prestigious list, and it’s scored equally to a good quality gastropub.
Heston Blumenthal’s own restaurant, The Fat Duck, came top of the list, scoring a perfect ten despite a brief closure in February this year due to an outbreak of the norovirus bug which affected 400 diners.
The Good Food Guide is published September 8th by Which? and can be ordered from http://www.which.co.uk
